Typotable Event

In March 2019, we launched Typotable — an independent, quarterly event series where established creative professionals as well as young designers and students present current positions in type design and typography.
With these events, we want to focus on creative and technological aspects of type design, highlight current trends and provide deep insights into workflows and design methods. The direct and barrier-free exchange between speakers and visitors is part of the event concept, where everyone can get into conversation with each other.

The atmosphere in the Large Pressroom of the Museum für Druckkunst Leipzig, where guests and speakers sit surrounded by historical printing presses and type casting machines, conveys the long tradition of publishing and typography in Leipzig and forms the logical context as well as the contrast to type design today. The events take place in cooperation with the Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Druckkunst Leipzig e.V. (Society for the Promotion of the Printing Arts Leipzig e.V.).
